Things I'm proud of. A design system used in 1,300+ products. Startups that made it. A wave of new designers taught. Trust from the big guys. And two kids who couldn't care less.
I started out as an actor. Traveled, performed, gave it everything. Looking back, there was always another creative thread running alongside: The things around the story—the posters, the websites, the art of film and TV.
That thread led me into design. Back in school, I was already tinkering—making messy MySpace edits, learning Photoshop from my dad, figuring out CSS for fun, and building sites for friends. Much later I studied Interactive and Visual Design. Mid-degree I had the opportunity to join an early stage Uber where I helped Queensland drivers get onto the road with a first of its kind tool. I also had the chance to help build an early version of the airport kiosks where we solicited the first ever ride on Uber without a phone.
Now I'm a Principal Designer at Metalab. I work on UX, systems, and AI experiences, helping products grow from “what if” to “ready.” I stay close to the craft—prototyping, coding, and trying to make the work feel simple, not clever. Outside work, I take photos, drink too much coffee, and raise two incredible girls. They keep me grounded. And remind me why I like making things.
Jason has a natural knack for user experience and branded experiences. He just gets it. Excels at it, and makes it look easy.

(Head of Brand, Uber ANZ & EMEA)
I'm a designer's designer. I build the systems other designers use to make things. I like structure, but not for control—for freedom. A good system should feel like wind at your back, not walls around you.
I've helped shape over a thousand products, crafted the parts that hold them together, and taught others how to do the same. It's quiet work, but it makes a lot of noise in the right places.
Jason and I have worked on many projects together, none of them easy, and every time I've been blown away by his ability. He's a true multidisciplinary designer who's happy to dive into tricky UX challenges, can lift the visual quality of anything he touches, brings deep systems thinking, and has serious prototyping skills. He also has a brilliant learning mindset, happy to take on any challenge and acquire new skills to deal with it. Add to that he's also just a complete joy to work with, I'd have him on my team any day.
